LUMINARIES
New York, NY
December 10, 2015
I popped into the Broomfeild Building in search of coffee and stumbled upon LUMINAIRES, “a canopy of light emanating from 650 hanging lanterns” in the Winter Garden. How it works is visitors make a wish at the er, wishing station, and the instillation lights up. Soft Christmas music plays while the lights sparkle.
It’s not a fancy exhibition, but it is quite beautiful, and perfect for people watching and cupcake-ing with a boo. There were tons of cute couples enjoying the Holiday spirit and the lights.
I worked in Lower Manhattan for years and the Winter Garden used to be my hang out spot during lunch and after work. It’s since been severely upgraded with a A+ food court and a new Gucci store!
LUMINARIES is on display, until January 10. For more details: HERE
