Dyker Heights Lights

I usually plan the weekend excursions with hubs. But he surprised me with a trip to Dyker Heights (cross-streets: 83rd thru 86th between 11th thru 13th avenues) to catch the (completely over the top) Christmas lights in the neighborhood.

Most of the homes are professionally decorated by designers who clearly believe “more is more!” There were driveways packed with decorations to the point I wondered how the owners got in and out. One even had a real life Santa for the kiddies (and the kids at heart) to take pictures with. The extra-ness—and guessing the electric bills for December—is part of the (Brooklyn) charm.
