Bushwick Collective
Brooklyn, NY
December 13, 2015
I saw the tags for Bushwick Collective all over Wynwood when I was in Miami for Art Basel. And as I was going through my street art photos, I realized several of my favorite murals were affiliated with the group. (Hubs and) I decided to take advantage of the last days of reasonable weather in NYC and head deeper into Brooklyn, into Bushwick (Saint Nicholas Ave & Troutman Street), to see what was on the walls.
The art is impressive, as expected. And so are the number of new restaurants popping up in the area. We grabbed an early dinner at Queen of Falafel (2 Wyckoff Avenue), a restie that also functions as the backstage to a theatre. I know, weird. If you’re headed there, go before 5PM when the teeny sitting area closes so performers can prep. Oh, and yes, the food lives up to the name.
